- Confirmed chartered on 12/11/1849. Whereas, a Dispensation was issued by the M. W. Grand Master, to authorise the opening a Lodge at Buckhannon, Lewis county, by the name of Franklin Lodge, and appointing Wor. Josiah Bigelow, Master; Willis H. Woodley, Senior Warden, and Clinton G. Miller, Junior Warden; and said dispensation being returned, together with the necessary documents; Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name, title, and designation of Franklin Lodge, No. 20, appointing the officers named in the dispensation, upon the payment of the usual fees, when they shall furnish the recommendation of the Lodge nearest their proposed locality.
