Confirmed chartered as "Lovingston No. 66" on 01/16/1839. Editor: Presuming District 6 based on location, but not in the Grand Lodge records.
Whereas a dispensation was issued by the M. W. Grand Master to open and hold a Lodge in Charlestown, Jefferson county, appoint John J. Straith, Master; Hugh L. Gallaher, S. Warden, and Wo North, J. Warden, and whereas, from some cause, the said paper documents have not come to hand, but such a representation being to the Grand Committee by Wor. Brother Washington G. Singleton was perfectly satisfactory.
Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name, title and designation of "Lovingston Lodge, No. 66", appointing John J. Straith, Master; Hugh L. Gallaher, 5. Warden, and Wm. D. North, J. Warden.
1846 Proceedings: Listed as dormant. Carried from 1843 - 1845 as showing no return. Was NOT included in 1848 when a list of all dormant Lodges were marked as extinct, which caused some confusion when researching these events.
Union Lodge No. 66 was chartered in 1848, so the number was clearly free by then, although that charter was withdrawn in 1849.
