Confirmed chartered on 12/11/1849.
Whereas, a Dispensation was issued by the M. W. Grand Master, to authorise the opening a Lodge at Marion, Smythe county, by the name of Marion Lodge, and appointing Joseph M. Crockett, Master; Richard W. Jones, Senior Warden, and William S. Thurmon, Junior Warden; and said dispensation being returned, together with the necessary documents;
Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name, title, and designation of Marion Lodge, No. 31, and appointing the officers named in the dispensation, upon the payment of the usual fees.
