Confirmed chartered on 12/10/1850. Assigned to District 16 in 1850.
Whereas, a Dispensation was issued by the M. W. Grand Master to authorise the opening a Lodge at Scottsville, in the County of Albemarle, by the name of Scottsville Lodge, and appointing Wor. James M. Mason, Master; Samuel R. Moore, Senior Warden and John Hickok, Junior Warden; and said Dispensation being returned together with the necessary documents;
Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, upon their producing such a specimen of Work as may be approved by the M. W. Grand Master by the name, title, and designation of Scottsville Lodge, No. 45, and appointing the Officers named in the Dispensation, except Bro. Samuel R. Moore in whose place Bro. William B. Brady is substituted.
Resolved, That the Dispensation granted to Scottsville Lodge be continued in force until 1st February, unless a Charter should sooner issue. (Also in 1850 Proceedings)
