Whereas, a Dispensation was issued by the M. W. Grand Master to authorise the opening a Lodge at Christianville, in the County of Mecklenburg, by the name of Warren Lodge, appointing Wor. James J. Daly, Master; William G. Burton, Senior Warden and Joseph C. Hutcheson, Junior Warden; and said Dispensation being returned together with the necessary documents;
Resolved, That a Charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge by the name, title, and designation of Warren Lodge, No. 59, and appointing the Officers named in the Dispensation.
Originally known as Christianville, the town recorded its first deed in 1808. It was later renamed Chase City when it was incorporated in 1873, taking its name from United States Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase.
