Right Worshipful Robert S. Hughes, Jr. was raised in Northside Lodge No. 292, serving as Worshipful Master and was later an honorary member. He served as District Deputy Grand Master for Masonic District 15B, and was active in Royal Arch, Scottish Rite, Knights Templar, and The Philalethes Society.
Most Excellent Hughes served as Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Virginia in 1996. He also served on the Board of Governors of the Masonic Home of Virginia. He laid down his working tools in 2003.
