Wallace served as Worshipful Master of Mispah Lodge No. 572, Toronto, Canada, in 1969. In 1983 he became the only North American to serve as Master of Quatour Coronati Lodge No. 2076, London, England. In between he served as a Grand Senior Warden of the Grand Lodge of Canada, on its Board of General Purposes, and its Educational Committee. He's a Royal Arch Mason and an Honorary Member of several Lodges. In 1983 he was the Anson Jones Lecturer for the Texas Lodge of Research (we had "signed him up" before then). He was the 1984 choice for membership in the Society of Blue Friars. He was born in Toronto, Canada, on May 30, 1931. In 1957 he married Elizabeth Marion Staples. They have three sons and one daughter. He studied archaeology in Greece during the late 1950s. He received his B.A. from Toronto in 1953; his A.M. in 1954 from Harvard; and his Ph.D., also from Harvard, in 1966. He has taught in several colleges. He is a professor of Classical Languages at the University of Toronto. Wallace has written many items on archaeology. Masonically his writings include: The Sufferings of John Coustos; Whence Come We; Beyond the Pillars; and contributions to Meeting the Challenge; plus numerous articles for Masonic publications. In addition to those noted above, he is a member of The Philalethes Society and the Masonic Brother-hood of the Blue Forget-Me-Not. He is listed in Who Is Who In Freemasonry.
