Details: Virginia Research Lodge No. 1777 is pleased to welcome Bro. Austin Shifrin with his research paper, "The Allied Masonic Degrees and the Grand College of Rites". Bro. Shifrin will be speaking on these two little-known Masonic bodies, and their importance to Masonic Research and the preservation of many "side degrees" that originated in England and Europe. Unlike the degrees in the Royal Arch and the Scottish Rite, where a number of degrees were brought together into a cohesive structure, there are many degrees in our craft that were orphaned, and only conferred in some locations if they were conferred at all.
